Hello Stephen, for me there are some issues in your question. Fernand Kessels made bikes by the name Main d'Or but I presume one can not compare them with the Merckx's bikes shown in the three generations. The decal with the hand suggests a link between the bike and Main d'Or but I am not sure if they chronological fit, decals are easy to put on at any time. I my opinion the two holes in the bracket is a far more indication for a second generation Merkx Kessels bike but the color should be orange. I think some detailed photo's of the sea tlug, bracket, fork crown, drop-outs, head tube with both lugs and the bike as such would give more accurate infomation. Looking forward to see them!
