During the First World War, aviation materials and bombs were made. This was also the case from 1939 and rockets and machine gun parts were also manufactured. Part of the factory was destroyed in 1943 by the Allies.
The following brands were all made by Ravat: Dainty, Hasty, Wonderful, Icare with Elevated, Maxi, Super Maxi, Sader, Chamois, Daphné, Mouette d'or, Atalante. The Ravat bicycle factories were sold to Mercier, another Saint-Etienne manufacturer, in 1954.
Ravat bicycles enjoyed a good reputation, as did their beautiful advertising. Ravat, together with Automoto and the Manufacture d'Armes et Cycles, was one of the largest bicycle houses in Saint-Etienne.
