Manufacture founded in 1869 by Ernst Bernhard Claes and Franz Theodor Flentje, production of sewing machines for shoemakers, knitting machines and bicycles under the brand name "Pfeil" (arrow) in French.
Bankrupted in 1932.
Linked to the history of France and Germany, this manufacture was not only French. In 1870, the Baden people occupied Mulhouse. the city will then be part, like Alsace and the Moselle, of the German Empire until 1918.
